KT has traveled the world as an emissary of hope. Along the way she’s been graced by some amazing and talented people: actors, writers, artists, people who bring the magic to the fans. KT loves to make friends, and some of these you just may recognize.
Samantha Alleyne
Samantha Alleyne rocketed to fame after appearing as the first female Stormtrooper in The Force Awakens. Since then, she has appeared in multiple Star Wars movies and streaming series in a variety of roles. But her favorite thing is to meet the fans and be a part of the community. Sam was smitten with KT and has since appeared with multiple KT units on her travels, earning her the title “Godmother to all KT’s!” She was there in 2021 for Pink Force Day in San Sebestian, Spain and again for the 2023 Pink Force Day in Milan, Italy. Sam always brings class, grace, and positive energy to the fans and KT is blessed to have her as her queen.
Peter Mayhew
Peter and Angie Mayhew had been friends and supporters of KT since before the droid existed. During Katie’s Make-A-Wish trip to Disney World, the Mayhews insisted on sending Katie and her sisters some fun money to spend in the park. And boy, did they feel spoiled!
The Mayhew Foundation is a longtime partner with KT in charitable projects and giving. Peter and Angie were the loveliest souls, always looking for ways to help others in the fan community. They were even there at San Diego Comic Con in 2007 when Hasbro released the exclusive R2-KT action figure. Few people are as close as family as the Mayhews, and KT is proud to have appeared in Peter’s children’s book, “My Favorite Giant.”
Vivien Lyra Blair
Young Leia from the Obi-Wan Kenobi series was tickled to see KT-11 in Germany in 2022. She specifically requested to visit with R2-KT and R2-D2 and it was love at first sight.
Artists Extraordinaire!
Much love to the artists who make Star Wars come to life. Katie, Tom, and Michael are all so giving of their talents and have rallied behind KT since the beginning. Katie Cook created the iconic KT & Leia graphic you see on the website and Michael’s design of KT & Jawa was the very first R2-KT Fan Club patch!
Warwick Davis with KT-14 and Tim, Jenna, and Adia of the KT-14 crew at Steel City Con in 2024
Timothy Zahn
Timothy Zahn with KT-26 at Washington State Summer Con. Tim is a huge supporter of all Star Wars fan clubs. He even wrote the 501st Legion into canon in his 2004 book Survivor’s Quest! Tim is one of the only celebrities to have met KT’s namesake, Katie, back in 2004.
Andy Serkis, a Star Wars double threat as Supreme Leader Snoke and inmate Kino Loy in Andor (as well as a few other hits you may have heard about) was kind enough to sign KT-19 in Paris in 2024.
Anthony Forrest
Anthony is a longtime friend of Star Wars fans. He appeared as a Desert Trooper in A New Hope as well as Fixer in the deleted scenes. He has so many stories and is super cool with admirers. So we were lucky to catch up to him in 2010 at ConCarolinas!
Emily Swallow, the Armorer from the Mandalorian, with KT-14 at SciFi Valley ComicCon in 2021 and KT-26 at Lilac City Comic Con in Spokane, WA in 2024.
The guy who spawned the Empire! Temuera Morrison is considered by all good clone troopers as a dad figure, having played Jango Fett back in Attack of the Clones. But now he’s back as Boba Fett himself and was cool enough to sign KT-19 while he was in Paris in 2004.
Ingvild Syntropia may not be immediately recognizable to some fans. She played Leia at the end of Rogue One, albeit with Carrie Fisher’s CG face superimposed over hers. But she’s royalty to us and we were so excited she got to meet KT in 2021!
Tait Fletcher, Alpha Trawler as well as the double of Paz Vizsla in the Mandalorian, with KT-26 at Lilac City Comic Con in Spokane, WA in 2024.
Susan Malak, Jawa from the Mandalorian, with KT14 Happy Valley ComicCon in 2024.
Stranger Things season one had just aired when our friend David Gremillion gifted Millie Bobby Brown with the R2-KT Halloween patch featuring her sharing an Eggo with Eleven. The face says it all. 🙂
Virginia Hey, best known for her role as Pa’u Zotoh Zhaan in Farscape, is a longtime friend of the Star Wars costuming clubs. She lit up when she was in Charlotte, NC and insisted on a photo with KT. Now that is a beautiful photo!
Lars Mikkelsen
In 2023 Lars Millelsen was traveling through Denmark and Per Valgreen was keen to catch a photo op with Lars and KT-15! Admiral Thrawn appears pleased with the meeting.
Clem So
Clem is in all the movies. Go back and check, he’s in everything from Potter to James Bond to… Star Wars. He appeared in Jedi attire in Force Awakens and even hung out with KT on the set. Here he is hanging with KT-15 at SciFi Con in 2024.
“They were filming overhead shots of the resistance base using a drone camera and the 3rd assistant director paired me up with R2-KT and I communicated with the remote control guy to tell him where I wanted it to cross. I remember at the time I thought the pink was quite striking and unusual for a R2 unit. I only found out later on what R2-KT meant to the Star Wars community. There were at least 4 takes or more of me crossing the run way with R2-KT that I began talking to the droid, having conversations to really act naturally like it was my companion. In fact I did it so many times that I continued talking to R2-KT during a break when Anthony Daniels actually walked pass me and thought me quite mad. I don’t believe any of that footage made the final cut sadly. I am next to the yellow “bin’ droid in this picture. R2-KT is far right of pic.”
Anthony Daniels
With R2-KT when she visited Germany for Celebration II in 2013. Anthony has quite a lot of experience with astromechs. He was quite taken with the girl when they met. I think it would make for a wonderful scene for Threepio and KT to appear together. She’s known for gossiping, he’s a chatterbox, perfect!
Pam Rose, who portrayed Leesub Sirln in A New Hope, is an avid supporter of KT and all Star Wars fan groups. So she was thrilled to meet her and pose for a photo when KT traveled to Germany for the second Celebration Europe.
A quick photo op at the 2024 Washington State Summer Con saw the Star Wars galaxy meet the Star Trek universe: Brent Spiner, Ed Speleers, Gates McFadden, and Michael Dorn! Now if we can only get KT on the bridge…
And another quick photo op at the 2024 Washington State Summer Con paired KT-26 with the Star Gate crew: Amanda Tapping and Richard Dean Anderson!
KT-15 makes the rounds at Sci-Fi-Con in 2024
KT-15 was able to meet Lindsey and Brian Muir, which was a thrill. Brian has created sculpts and sets for Star Wars and Indiana Jones films as well as designing the Stormtrooper armor and other costumes. Joonas Suotamo famously stepped into the Wookiee boots as Chewbacca for the third Star Wars trilogy. And Brian Herring is the master puppeteer from the ILM Creature Effects Shop who portrayed BB-8. What a star-studded event!
James Arnold Taylor and KT-23 at Fan Expo Denver 2024. Master Kenobi is no stranger to R2-KT. James lights up whenever he sees his old costar from the Clone Wars animated series. He loves the charity work she continues to do and hopes to one day reappear with the plucky pink droid in further adventures!
