KT-28 is the second R2-KT in South America and the first in Brazil! Daniel Martins and the Pink Force Brazil group have answered the call to bring hope, charity, and inspiration to the Star Wars fans in their country. And Daniel has create a beautiful KT unit to lead the way.
“Hello everyone, my name is Daniel, I’m 48 years old, I live in Brazil, I’ve been a nurse for 26 years, a civil firefighter and I’ve been a big fan of Star Wars since the first time I watched the film New Hope as a child.
“I like Star Wars because it is not just a film, but because it brings a deeper reflection on our existence, the saga reveals to us our daily lives, the fight between good and evil, friendship, faith, spirit of team, redemption, forgiveness, fight for ideals and more recently with the Andor series inspired me to other reflections like Star Wars expands into a political circle that I hadn’t delved into in depth on the subject. The bonds of love with the saga intensified in 2015 when I met and joined the 501st legion, I fell in love with the story of Albin Johnson and the philanthropy project, this brought new inspiration to my life, a means of dedicating beyond time work at the hospital, being able to do something for people in my free time.
“In 2019 I saw a photo on Facebook of a lady called Victoria Cabanás Córdoba from the Spanish garrison at an event, I was enchanted by the image of that lady representing the legion, showing that the old guard is so active in this Star Wars passion, but something caught my attention, that pink flag she carried, a love story with Pink Force began, I started researching, and decided that one day I would make a pink R2 to also be part of this project, as our garrison it was founded in April 2019, I was the first commander and I had to dedicate myself intensely so that that year was one of knowledge and expansion for the ranks of the 501st, the pandemic came and the R2-KT project ended up being stopped.
“In 2023 I resumed the project, I did a lot of research, I bought another 3D printer and started building the astromech, I used metal, wood and 3D techniques, I finished it in April 2024, with great pride.
I hope to be able to promote, together with our brothers from the 501st legion, the fight against childhood cancer, as well as visiting and bringing joy to children, bringing a little more comfort to families, helping charities, spreading awareness about Pink Force’s beautiful work for world .

Body: Wooden structure, carbon steel skin, dome, accessories and greeblies in 3D. MKIII body and dome design.
Construction: Movable 3 legs, the center leg does not retract.

Missions: Represent R2-KT in Brazil, this is the first unit here in the country, make visits to
hospitals to bring joy to children and adults, promote the cause of combating childhood cancer
and other forms of cancer, promote philanthropy with great honor and joy , we will always be

2024 Campina Anime Fest
“On August 18th we participated in the geek event Campinas Anime Fest, an event that takes place three times a year in the city of Campinas, state of São Paulo, with an average of two tons of food collected in each edition. Since 2015, the 501st Legion has been invited to set up a Star Wars themed room and promote the fan club. In this special edition, the Pink Force was represented by KT 28 along with the brothers from the 501st Legion Death Star Garrison, where I am currently XO TK19760 together with Luiz Azzamaster DS89889, today CO. We founded the Garrison in 2019.”
2024 Mac Happy Day
“On August 24th, R2-KT 28 and our friends from the garrison (they were there as Star Wars cosplayers and not as the 501st) were at Mac Happy Day. Since 2016, we have participated in supporting each Ronald Mac Donald here in the city of Campinas.”
2024 August 10 – Ouro Verde Hospital, Campinas
10 August R2-KT 28 was at the Ouro Verde hospital in the city of Campinas (Brazil), bringing joy to children, young people and adults along with the 501st Death Star Garrison. The movement was so intense that an exception was made and we entered the pediatric ICU because the children were thrilled when they heard about the event and wanted to get out of their beds. It was something magical and intense. Only by living the moment can we describe all this emotion and gratitude that we felt.
2024 July – Grendacc Hospital
Our first event at Grendacc Children’s Cancer Hospital in Jundiaí, gratitude to everyone who welcomed us warmly, 501st Legion Death Star Garrison was with us, also thanking the wonderful staff who dedicated a lot to this mission!
