With the success of KT-5 in Mexico, it became clear a new KT unit was needed to meet all the fans. Roberto Vilchis, builder of KT-5, began work on a second droid, with the help of Michael Sanrod organizing the operation. In June 2022 KT-18 was born, with Michael and the entire Rancor Hunter Garrison acting as her ward. In 2024, Michael Aria Olivarez and Jonathan Gonzalez stepped up to be primary operators for KT-18.
